Maple Class

Our theme this term is: Come outside!

There's snow place like the great outdoors! That's why class 1 is branching out this term by focusing on plants and growing, as well as reviewing previous learning from the year like seasonal changing, animal habitats and more! We will be reading stories like 'Ten Seeds' by Ruth Brown, 'Look After Us' by Rod Campbell, and 'Little People, Big Dreams' by Greta Thunburg, David Attenborough and Jane Goodall, and we'll be returning to our roots with traditional tales like 'Jack and the Beanstalk' and 'Enormous Turnip'. In maths, we'll be learning about numbers beyond ten and matching, rotating, and manipulating shapes, and we'll be taking a leaf out of Eric Carle and Andy Goldsworthy's books by creating work inspired by them in art. We're also looking fir-ward to our picnic in the park, vegetable planting, and visit to the allotment! It'll be tree-mendous!
